About the Teacher and SAT PREP course:
Hi My name is Joe, I am Strommen Tutoring's Los Angeles SAT tutoring expert. I have taught group classes with both Princeton Review and Kaplan, although I find that these curricula are somewhat limited in scope. I graduated in 2005 Magna Cum Laude with a double Major from CU Boulder, I have always been active in academic competitions (in college I was on the team for two state-championship seasons) and scored a perfect 800 on the verbal when I took my SATS. The SATS have changed considerably since then, but in my opinion, they now allow a student much more room to improve. On your first lesson I will administer a small test that will immediately highlight your weak points, and allow us to create an individualized strategy. During the course of our sessions we will also administer full length tests to habituate the student to the format and have evidence of results. Full length tests in conjunction with targeted exercises and strategies have increased my students scores by as much as 300 points.
